History of Blessings on Willow Event Venue

This unique venue was originally the Shorter Chapel A.M.E. (African Methodist Episcopal) Church.  It was built in 1881, renovated in 1929 and again in 2017.  It was used with regularity until the 1980’s and occasionally until 2010.     

In June of 2012 a storm damaged a large portion of the roof, causing the building to fall into disrepair until it was purchased by Russ and Rose White in October 2014.     

Over the last 3 years they have worked hard to restore this building so that it can be appreciated and used for many years to come.  Including replacing the roof and siding in the summer of 2015.  Windows were replaced in January, 2016. The inside remodeling began in February, 2017.  

It will open as Blessings on Willow Event Venue in August, 2017.
